The holiday season is upon is in Charlotte with November kicking off the months of seasonal celebrations around the city. Start your Thanksgiving Day festivities with some exercise and endorphins at one of these Turkey Trots around the greater Charlotte area.

 

Wobble Before You Gobble at NoDa

Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at 6:30 pm – 9 pm

“Run to beat the Turkey” at NoDa Brewing Company’s Wobble Before You Gobble Thanksgiving Eve event. Special prizes are on the table for those who can "Beat the Turkey." Warm up for your Turkey Trots and feasts on Thanksgiving Day with this fun NoDa event. Remember to bring a canned food item to be donated.

 

Charlotte SouthPark Turkey Trot

Thursday, November 28 at 8:00 am

This year marks the 31st Anniversary of the Charlotte South Park Turkey Trot, one of Charlotte's longest-running events, and one of the largest events in North Carolina. The race has become an Annual Thanksgiving Day Tradition for over 10,000+ participants, representing families and friends across generations. It’s a happy and healthy way to start off one of the best days of the year!

 

University City Turkey Trot

The University City Turkey Trot is an annual 5K run or walk held on Thanksgiving Day, with this year marking the 6th anniversary. The race will be held at 3024 Prosperity Church Road. After the race, cool down and enjoy a post-race mini-feast featuring food, drinks, games, and music! Every person registered for the 5K race, will be entered to win a pair of Apple AirPods Pro. This year’s event supports Sickle Cell Partners of the Carolinas, a non-profit established to provide support for patients and families affected by sickle cell disease, a hereditary illness. 

 

The Turkey Trot at MillBridge

Thursday, November 28 at 8:00 am

Get a head start on those pumpkin pie calories at the MillBridge Turkey Trot. Enjoy a 4-mile morning run, walk or trot throughout the streets of MillBridge with your friends, neighbors and family. All are welcome to join us for the 5th annual MillBridge Thanksgiving tradition. All proceeds will benefit Relay for Life.

 

Turkey Dash Charlotte

Thursday, November 28 at 8:30 am

Turkey Dash Charlotte is a family-friendly run & walk in the Ballantyne area on Thanksgiving morning. The event offers a 4-mile and 1-mile route for all to enjoy along with bounce houses and other entertainment for the whole family. Participants can enjoy refreshments after the race, including beer from our friends at Olde Mecklenburg Brewery and Bradshaw's Social House! Turkey Dash is the best way to start your Turkey Day!

 

Novant Health Thanksgiving Day Parade

Thursday November 28 at 9:00 am

A spectacle of sight and sound, the Novant Health Thanksgiving Day Parade is a Charlotte tradition with six decades of history behind it, growing to its impressive reputation as the fourth largest of its kind in the country and the biggest in the Southeast. The parade will step off at 9th Street and march South on Tryon Street to Stonewall Street at 9:00am on Thanksgiving Day.

 

ChristmasTown 5K

Saturday November 30, at 6:00 pm

Celebrate the kick off of ChristmasTown USA in McAdenville with a festive 5K under the lights. The annual light show doesn’t officially begin until Monday, December 2nd but participants in the ChristmasTown 5K get a sneak peek of all that’s involved in this nationally recognized holiday display. The race, held on Saturday, November 30th, is a great way to get an up close look at Christmas Town USA without the traffic.
